A planned DDoS test is executed with predefined target, duration, and parameters. In Engarde DDoS you first select your target (IP or domain) and the attack type you want to test (for example HTTP GET, TCP, or DNS). By setting duration and bandwidth parameters, you control when traffic starts and how much load nodes generate.
When the test starts, follow live metrics from the dashboard and attack monitor: bytes/packets, concurrent users, latency, and response time. Observe both target behavior and mitigation response. You can stop traffic at any time with "End test", and a detailed report is generated after completion.
For initial runs, start with short duration and low intensity, then move to heavier scenarios after reviewing infrastructure and team procedures. Use our Engarde DDoS documentation and training pages for deeper guidance on node management, monitoring, and reporting.
Before testing, take backups of critical systems and use staging where possible. If you run in production, align business teams and customer communication plans in advance so potential impact can be managed cleanly.
