Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Engarde, Engarde DDoS, and LoadEng.

What is Engarde?

Engarde is a platform that provides cybersecurity and performance testing solutions. You can run DDoS simulations with Engarde DDoS, load tests with LoadEng, and use uptime monitoring and alerts through the free plan.

What is DDoS testing?

DDoS testing is controlled, authorized traffic sent to your own systems to measure how WAF, firewall, scrubbing, and mitigation behave under attack-like load. Engarde DDoS combines DDoS simulation and DDoS testing in one cloud platform: you define targets and intensity, run from distributed nodes, monitor live metrics, and stop instantly — without waiting for a real incident.

What can I do with Engarde DDoS?

Engarde DDoS is a cloud-based DDoS simulation and testing service. You can send realistic attack traffic to authorized targets, run Layer 4 (TCP/UDP) and application-layer vectors, monitor behavior in real time, and evaluate results with audit-ready reports. 24/7 self-service or operator-assisted runs are available.

What types of DDoS attacks can Engarde simulate?

Engarde supports the main types of DDoS attacks used in professional testing: HTTP/HTTPS floods, TCP flag floods (SYN, ACK, RST, Xmas, and exotic presets), UDP datagram floods, ICMP echo floods, and DNS query floods — including multi-source and combined vectors. Each type maps to presets you configure from the interface.

Is DDoS testing safe and non-disruptive?

Engarde is designed for safe, controlled DDoS testing: traffic runs only against targets you authorize, intensity and duration are configurable, and you can end a test with one click so generated load stops immediately. Many teams use Engarde for continuous or periodic readiness checks alongside production — often with operator assistance for scope and timing.

Does Engarde offer managed or enterprise DDoS testing?

Yes. Engarde is a managed DDoS testing and simulation service for enterprise teams: cloud-delivered, with optional operator support for test planning, execution, and reporting. Banks, ISPs, gaming platforms, and SaaS vendors use Engarde as their DDoS testing service provider for stress tests, mitigation validation, and compliance documentation.

How does performance testing work with LoadEng?

In LoadEng, you define scenarios and run tests from distributed traffic generators. You can inspect real-time metrics and reports under distributed traffic. You can also try endpoint checks and Discovery tools from the Uptime Check page.

How do I test my site’s DDoS resilience?

Use Engarde DDoS for controlled DDoS resilience testing and stress testing: set your target and parameters, run a simulation from distributed nodes, and monitor in real time. You can stop the test with one click. This is a professional way to see how your site or network holds up under attack-like traffic without waiting for a real incident.

Do you support compliance testing (e.g. PSD2, DORA)?

Yes. Engarde supports operational resilience testing and documentation needs common in regulated sectors. Banks, fintechs, and ISPs use Engarde for DDoS resilience testing, mitigation testing, and stress-test reports that can support PSD2, DORA, or similar operational resilience requirements.

Is Engarde a professional DDoS testing service?

Yes. Engarde is an enterprise DDoS testing service: we offer DDoS attack simulation, DDoS stress testing, and traffic flood simulation in a controlled environment, with real-time monitoring and detailed reports. Tests can be run by your team or with operator assistance.

What is included in the free plan?

On the free plan, you can define up to 5 monitors, run checks every minute, and receive downtime alerts (email + in-app). Region-based outage visibility and uptime/response-time graphs (7-30 days) are included.

Can Engarde run Layer 4 DDoS tests and gaming scenarios?

Yes. Layer 4 DDoS testing (TCP SYN/ACK floods, UDP datagram floods, multi-node sources) is a core part of Engarde. Gaming and real-time UDP services (game servers, VoIP, streaming) are common targets — you can stress PPS and bandwidth limits with distributed nodes while monitoring latency and packet loss in Target Monitor.

Can I request a trial or a demo?

You can request access or a demo for Engarde DDoS and LoadEng from the Contact page. You can also do limited tests from the website via "Try now" flows (Check/Discovery).

Is there an API or integration support?

REST API and real-time metric updates documentation are available for LoadEng; scenario and test management can be automated via API. See the API Reference page in LoadEng docs for details. Engarde DDoS is offered via operator-assisted or UI-based workflows.

Are my data and test targets secure?

Target information and test traffic metadata are used only to provide the service. Data processing details, retention periods, and your rights are covered in our Privacy Policy. Ensure targets are tested only with proper authorization.
