Node Management

Nodes are distributed units that generate Engarde DDoS simulation traffic. By adding nodes from different regions, you can test your target with geographically distributed traffic.

What is a node?

Each node is a component running in a specific location and generating traffic according to your simulation parameters. During a test, selected nodes send requests to the target concurrently, which creates a realistic DDoS scenario.

Node onboarding and regions

  • You can add new nodes and list existing ones from the node management screen.
  • Region information indicates the geographic location of the node and lets you see where traffic originated in reports.
  • You can toggle nodes active/inactive to choose which ones are used in a specific test.

Limits and security

Depending on your plan, node count and bandwidth limits may apply. Controls are used to ensure tests are run only against authorized targets and within allowed parameter ranges.

Pre-test checklist

  • Make sure nodes you plan to use are active and assigned to the intended regions.
  • Verify target authorization and accessibility during the test window.
  • If this is your first run, start with a single node or low traffic and review results before scaling.
