Getting Started

LoadEng is a platform used to test your APIs and web applications under load. With backend services and the web interface, you define scenarios, run tests, and review reports.

First steps

  1. Account: Sign in to the LoadEng interface, or register on this site and access via a single session in future phases.
  2. Create scenario: Add endpoints you want to test (URL + HTTP method) as tasks. If needed, validate URLs one by one first from Uptime Check.
  3. Run test: Set user count, duration, and ramp parameters, then start the run. Follow RPS, latency, and error rates from real-time monitoring.

Concepts

  • Scenario: A test definition containing multiple tasks (URL + method).
  • Traffic generator (worker): Units that send requests to targets according to scenario settings; can run across regions.
  • Check: Availability and response-time validation for one or multiple URLs with HTTP methods (GET, POST, etc.).
  • Discovery: Call list and Web Vitals collection (LCP, CLS, INP, TBT) during page load for a single URL.

Important notes

  • For initial tests, start with low concurrency and short duration, then scale gradually after observing behavior.
  • Check and Discovery are available from the site-level Uptime Check page; full performance test runs require LoadEng platform access.

Next steps

Try Check and Discovery from Uptime Check. Continue with Scenarios and Tests for scenario details, and Workers and Deployment for worker setup.
